The West Baden Springs Hotel was built to capitalize on the mineral springs in the area. The original hotel burned to the ground in 1901, but was rebuilt, opening for business again exactly one year later.
Fashioned after the grandest spas of Europe, it included an opera house, swimming pools, casino and world-class golf course. This national historic landmark has been called 'the Eighth Wonder of the World.'
