"THE GRIST MILL, SPRING MILL STATE PARK" print or notecard (PR37)
Snow blankets the grist mill and the village, bringing all activity to a halt for this day.
Built in 1817 of local limestone, the mill still grinds cornmeal today. The wheel is driven by water from Mill Creek.
The village was a bustling hub of commerce until the 1850's, when the railroad came through nearby Mitchell, Indiana, bypassing the village and ending the hopes of prosperity for its residents.
Unframed, unmatted, signed giclee print of an original oil painting by Mitchell, Indiana, artist Janet C. Foster. Printed on watercolor paper. Available in 2 print sizes, and notecards (with envelope.) Shown matted and framed for illustration only.
