This painting was inspired by a black-and-white photo of my uncle, Gottlieb Hildebrand, and a friend taken about 1921 as the men took a short rest from shoveling gravel.

This is a signed giclee print, done in sepia tones, of an original oil painting by Mitchell, Indiana, artist Janet C. Foster.

Printed on watercolor paper.
